Contract Recruitment Growth

Gary Ashworth, Chairman of our parent company InterQuest, has reported that contract recruitment in the finance sector has grown 40% year-on-year and shows no sign of slowing.

He has stated “The banking crisis is making its impact in areas with high levels of activity: risk systems and liquidity programmes both lead the way, while the more traditional income sources for banks, such as foreign exchange and interest-rate trading, are returning to popularity”.

IT salaries are still at levels seen at the end of 2007 but are beginning to rise now that we are seeing skill shortages in some disciplines. Gary believes that security and risk, Solvency II compliance and SQL business intelligence, used in managing databases, will remain in strong demand this year.
